Romans 12:6-8 – Fulfilling Your Divine Purpose
Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness.
Real success in life is fulfilling the purpose for which God created you! Rick Warren’s book, “The Purpose Driven Life”, became a bestseller almost instantly, because people really want to know what their purpose on earth is all about!
First, for a fact, God created you to worship Him! To have a relationship with Him and enjoy fellowship with Him! This only begins when you repent of your sins and confess the Lord Jesus Christ as Savior and Lord of your life!
Second, Paul tells us in Ephesians 2:10, “For we are His workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand that we should walk in them.” God created us to be His “workers” serving Him in a way that draws others to know and love the Lord too. And God has gifted us with special supernatural abilities to serve Him in His local church. These abilities in the Bible are called “spiritual gifts.”
When you know and are exercising your spiritual gifts in the local church, you will experience a sense of fulfillment that you never find anywhere else in the world. You will live a life of purpose with a sense of self-acceptance and self-worth. You will have confident faith and a wonderful sense of security that the Lord is with you wherever you might find yourself!
Please listen carefully to today’s Pastor’s Chat as we describe the spiritual gifts, and then begin asking the Lord to reveal to you what are your gifts that you should be exercising in His church!
God bless!
