Romans 12:6-13
God Himself Working in and Through Us
“For it is God who works in you both to will and to do for His good pleasure.” (Philippians 2:13)
A spiritual gift is a supernatural ability that is given to us at the moment of our salvation. It is not a natural talent but is an empowerment of God Himself in and through our lives.
I often have people tell me that they do not feel God or His presence in their lives. He seems so far away, and they don’t feel connected to Him. I believe that there are several possible reasons for this. One might be that there is unconfessed sin in our life that God wants us to deal with. But another one is that we are trying to live the Christian life in our own strength and with our own wisdom. We have never yielded our lives to the Lordship of Jesus Christ and found out what spiritual gifts He has endowed us with.
When you begin to realize what your spiritual gift is and begin to exercise that gift in a scriptural way, you will truly experience God in a way that you never imagined possible before. My friend, when God is working in you and through you for His good pleasure, you will experience His presence. You will know it is God and not yourself. His wisdom, His energy, His love, His grace will be so evident in your daily life, that you will be both amazed and blessed as you become a blessing to others!
That is why it is so important that we spend so much time looking at this wonderful chapter in Romans 12 that gives us specific instructions in the exercise of the spiritual gifts in our lives and in our church.
Wow!!!! “It is God Who works in you!!!!! How amazing is that?
God bless!
