Face To Face
2 John 1:12-13
“Having many things to write to you, I did not wish to do so with paper and ink; but I hope to come to you and speak face to face, that our joy may be full. The children of your elect sister greet you. Amen.
I hope you will watch or listen to the Pastor’s Chat today! We will be giving our last thoughts on this little Epistle of 2 John. Several highlights I want you to reflect on and remember.
Don’t forget to balance truth with love. That is how John starts out his letter to this “elect lady and her children.” We should also walk in truth and love and this is possible because “truth abides in us.” And of course this “Truth” is a person, Jesus Christ. So love expressed in the boundary of truth and it should be practiced in our walk everyday by keeping the commandment to “love one another.”
We should also be warned and always aware of the false teachers, that John calls “antichrist”. They will deceive us about the “doctrine of Christ”. They will deny the deity of Jesus Christ, His virgin birth, His sinless life, His substitutionary death on the cross, His bodily resurrection and His ascension! Don’t allow them to teach in your church or your home.
And finally, and I love this, John says that he had lots of things to write but rather than write it down on paper with ink, he would rather come and speak to them face to face. I really relate to this. I have never considered myself a writer and writing this blog to go along with the Pastor’s Chat is a real challenge for me every day. And I thought how that with today’s technology you can see my face but I can’t see yours! So we are at least halfway there!
May you be blessed and encouraged as you watch or listen today! “Amen!”
God bless!
