THE HOLY SPIRIT: WATER

For I will pour water on him who is thirsty, and floods on the dry ground; I will

pour My Spirit on your descendants, and My blessing on your offspring.

Isaiah 44:3

The Holy Spirit is Water for thirsty people. Some people thirst because they have ignored the Lord. If that’s you, drink of the Spirit. Some people need water because they’re going through hot difficult troubles. If that’s you, drink of the Spirit. Still, others have dry parched throats because they don’t take time to stop for Water. Their minds are on other things–good things even–so they forget to drink of the Lord. They forget spiritual Water is necessary, so they don’t take time for the Holy Spirit, or for the Scriptures, prayer, or worship. Your human body can only go so long without water; then you lose strength and faint or die. Only when they’re thirsty do some people realize how important it is to drink regularly. Have you drunk spiritual Water today?

Holy Spirit, You are good Water; I need You daily. Remind me to

heed my thirst and come drink of You daily.

The Holy Spirit’s Water is more than life sustaining; His Water is satisfying. Many people seek happiness through the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, or pride of life; but pandering to the flesh or ego will not bring ultimate happiness. While some of these things will give momentary pleasure, there is nothing more satisfying than fellowshipping with your Creator. Come spend time with the Lord; drink deeply for the greatest experience in life. Aren’t you thirsty?

Holy Spirit, I come for refreshing Water; fill me. I come

because I’ll die if I don’t drink; revive me. I come because

I’m thirsty. Ah, how good Your Water is! Amen.
