THE HOLY SPIRIT: A DEPOSIT

God, who sealed us has also given us the Spirit in our hearts as a

deposit that there are more good things coming.

SEE 2 CORINTHIANS 1:21-22

When you became a Christian, you received the Holy Spirit as the Deposit in your life to guarantee that there are more good things coming. When you got saved, you could not understand all God wanted you to know. So the Holy Spirit was placed into your life as a Deposit, a down payment, to let you experience some of the spiritual blessings that you will eventually receive. As a Deposit, the Holy Spirit wants you to be holy now, because you will be perfect in Heaven. As a Deposit, the Holy Spirit wants to give you spiritual understanding now, promising that you will know much more in Heaven. As a Deposit, the Holy Spirit wants to enrich your present life by giving you a foretaste of blessings to come in Heaven.

Holy Spirit, I know You have come into my life as a foretaste of the good

things to follow. I like the taste of it, but I want more.

The Holy Spirit is the Deposit to let you know some of the wonderful things that await you in Heaven. "Eye has not seen, nor ear heard, nor have entered into the heart of man the things which God has prepared for those who love Him" (1 Corinthians 2:9). But, don't get your eyes so fixed on the future that you forget today. Remember that what He'll do fully for you in the future, He'll begin to do today.

Lord, I want to know You better today because it will help me know You

more fully in the future. Get me started now! Amen.
