THE HOLY SPIRIT: THE WISDOM OF HIS SPIRIT

I pray that the great God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ may

give you the wisdom of His Spirit. Then you will be able to understand

the secrets about Him as you know Him better.

EPHESIANS 1:17

The Wisdom of His Spirit is the Holy Spirit. He gives believers insight into the Word of God. Because some believers don't understand God's will, He helps them see and understand spiritual truths (see 2 Corinthians 4:3-4). Because unsaved people will not believe the Word of God, He convicts them of their sin (see John 16:9). Because some reject the Scriptures, He uses their conscience to enlighten them (see Romans 2:14-15). It is the task of the Holy Spirit to give all people the Wisdom of God.

Holy Spirit, I realize that I know very little about spiritual things. Show

me what I need to know and help me remember to use what You show me.

The theme of the book of Proverbs is "Get knowledge so that you can gain wisdom." Therefore, you learn the Word of God by acquiring facts or knowledge about God. The more facts you know about Scripture, the wiser you can become. Knowledge is learning Bible information; wisdom is understanding the meaning of the Bible and applying it to your life. That's where the Holy Spirit comes in. The Wisdom of His Spirit helps you understand the Bible and apply it to your life. The Holy Spirit gives you His wisdom as you study the Bible. When you yield to the Holy Spirit, He helps you understand the will of God.

Holy Spirit, I will study the Scriptures to master them. I want to know

everything You want me to know so that I can have wisdom. Enter

my mind, Wisdom of the Spirit, so I can grow spiritually. Amen.
