THE HOLY SPIRIT: THE SPIRIT OF THE FEAR OF THE LORD

The Spirit of the LORD shall rest upon Him, the Spirit of

wisdom and understanding, the Spirit of counsel and might,

the Spirit of knowledge and of the fear of the LORD.

ISAIAH 11:2

The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord. He works in the hearts of people to revere the Father. When people take the Father's name in vain or sin against the Son, He convicts them of their transgressions and shows them where they fall short. He is the Holy Spirit, who convicts people of sin. He gives people a spirit of reverence to approach the Father.

O Spirit of reverence, I am blinded by my own good works. Many times

I don't realize when I sin. Remind me any time I step out of line. Give

me a sensitive spirit of obedience to the Father

The Spirit of the Fear of the Lord will shine light on your sinful habits to make you aware of them and to help you abstain from them. He will then change your attitudes that are offensive to the Father. He can give you a reverential heart. A spirit of reverence will keep you from evil and give you a thirst for godliness. The Holy Spirit is the Spirit of the Fear of the Lord who will show you when and how to pray.

Lord, I know that You punish sin in the lives of Your children

and that You judge the transgressions of the unsaved. Teach me godly

fear when I sin. Fill me with Your presence so that I won't sin again.

I receive Your love; I stand in awe of Your power; and

I receive Your Spirit of reverence. Amen.
