This Is The Day to Rejoice
Psalm 118:22-24
The stone that the builders rejected has become the cornerstone. This is the LORD’s doing; it is marvelous in our eyes. This is the day that the LORD has made; let us rejoice and be glad in it.
A thousand years before the birth of Jesus Christ the Psalmist penned these powerful and prophetic words. Jesus was the Stone that the Jewish religious leaders rejected. “He came to His own, but His own received Him not.” (John 1:11)
We are reminded that everything that happened to our Lord was part of God’s marvelous plan for the salvation for humanity! And we marvel at the providence and wonderful work of Jehovah, in bringing His Son into the world as a baby through the Virgin Mary. Jesus lives a common ordinary life for about thirty years and only has a public ministry for three years. He is crucified and is placed in a borrowed tomb.
Then came “the day” that the Psalmist prophesied about. He called it, “the day that the LORD has made.” And what a day it was!!!!!! It was the day that God raised His Son from the dead never to die again!!!!
This day, Resurrection Day, changes everything! It’s because of “this day”, that we can rejoice in our sins being forever forgiven! We can rejoice that we have a future hope of a resurrection and can see our deceased loved ones again! We can rejoice because we have an eternal home in a wonderful and beautiful place called heaven that we can only now imagine!
What a glorious day!!!! Resurrection Day!!!! God made this day for you and me!!!! Because of His great love for us He sent His Son to pay the price for our sins!
It’s because of “that day”, that we can rejoice every day in our relationship with the Father through His Son Jesus Christ.”
And we have one day every week that we call the “First day of the week”, Sunday! And corporately with other believers we celebrate “that day” two thousand years ago when Jesus arose from the dead!
Have you ever experience His resurrection life personally? I trust that you have and if not, that you will today invite Jesus Christ into your heart and life!
God bless!
