Romans 13 - Resurrection Power for My Relationships
What a great weekend as we celebrated the Resurrection of our Lord Jesus Christ!
Our theme for the day here at Rainbow Forest was, “This Changes Everything”.
For sure the resurrection of our Lord changed everything for everyone for all eternity!
For the believer, it is through the resurrection power that we can be all that we should be in all of our relationships - with God, with others, with our enemies and with the government.
God wants everyone in the world to know Him in a personal and intimate relationship. Not through religion or some man-made idols, but through His Son Jesus Christ. And the greatest witness that we have as believers to the lost world, is that the same power that raised Jesus from the dead is transforming and working in our lives in such a way that it is evident that there is a God in heaven and He can do anything!
Paul speaks of this power and life that is available for us in Romans 6:4-5, “Therefore we were buried with Him through baptism into death, that just as Christ was raised from the dead by the glory of the Father, even so we also should walk in newness of life. For if we have been united together in the likeness of His death, certainly we also shall be in the likeness of His resurrection,”
Paul prayed for the Ephesian believers to know this power. Ephesians 1:19-21, “And what is the exceeding greatness of His power toward us who believe, according to the working of His mighty power which He worked in Christ when He raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right hand in the heavenly places, far above all principality and power and might and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this age but also in that which is to come.”
And Peter reminded the readers of his epistle in 2 Peter 1:3-4, “His divine power has granted to us all things that pertain to life and godliness, through the knowledge of him who called us to his own glory and excellence, by which he has granted to us his precious and very great promises, so that through them you may become partakers of the divine nature, having escaped from the corruption that is in the world because of sinful desire.”
Today we have no excuse not to live the kind of life that pleases and glorifies God and is a witness to our lost friends, family members and the world!
God bless!
