The Best Time Ever
Revelation 20:4-6
“And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years. But the rest of the dead did not live again until the thousand years were finished. This is the first resurrection. Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.”
We are studying Revelation 20 and talking about the Millennium reign of Jesus Christ. Today we want to continue to discuss and explore the nature and the character of the Kingdom. When you specifically begin to look at all the verses in the Bible that tell us about the Millennium you would have to agree with me that it will be the best time ever! Already we have mentioned that it will be a time of righteousness, holiness and truth! It will be a time of peace and great joy.
The list of the wonderful characteristics and nature of this time period could go on and on! We at least want to look at a few more of these wonderful conditions that will exist worldwide!
It will be a time of glory because the King of Glory will be there! “Then the moon will be disgraced And the sun ashamed; For the LORD of hosts will reign On Mount Zion and in Jerusalem And before His elders, gloriously. (Isaiah 24:23)
It will be a time of comfort for all God’s people. “And in that day you will say: "O LORD, I will praise You; Though You were angry with me, Your anger is turned away, and You comfort me. Behold, God is my salvation, I will trust and not be afraid; 'For YAH, the LORD, is my strength and song; He also has become my salvation.' " (Isaiah 12:1-2)
It will be a time when perfect justice is executed. "Behold, the days are coming," says the LORD, "That I will raise to David a Branch of righteousness; A King shall reign and prosper, And execute judgment and righteousness in the earth.” (Jeremiah 23:5)
It will be a time of full knowledge available to everyone! “For the earth will be filled With the knowledge of the glory of the LORD, As the waters cover the sea.” (Habakkuk 2:14) It will be a time instruction. “Now it shall come to pass in the latter days That the mountain of the LORD'S house Shall be established on the top of the mountains, And shall be exalted above the hills; And peoples shall flow to it. Many nations shall come and say, "Come, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, To the house of the God of Jacob; He will teach us His ways, And we shall walk in His paths." For out of Zion the law shall go forth, And the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.” (Micah 4:1-2)
The original curse placed on creation will be removed, so that there will be abundant productivity to the earth. Animal creation will be changed so as to lose its venom and ferocity (Isaiah 11:6-9; 35:9; 65:25). The ministry of King Jesus as a healer will be seen throughout the age, so that sickness and even death, except as a penal measure in dealing with overt sin, will be removed! (Isaiah 33:24; Jeremiah 30:17; Ezekiel 34:16).
It will be a time of wonderful protection and security! There will be a supernatural work of preservation of life in the millennial age through the King (Isaiah 41:8-14; 62:8-9; Jeremiah 32:27; 23:6; Ezekiel 34:27; Joel 3:16; Amos 9:15; Zechariah 8:14-15; 9:8; 14:10-11). And there will be no social, political, or religious oppression in that day (Isaiah 14:3-6; 42:6-7; 49:8-9; Zechariah 9:11-12).
