“To Present You Faultless…”

Jude 1:24-25 “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen.”

I can’t begin to tell you how often and how many times I have been at fault in a matter or situation! I had to take the blame and responsibility for the mess that was created by my sin, my selfishness, my stupidity, my carelessness, my thoughtlessness and sometimes my ignorance! I was obviously in the wrong and was the guilty one. I don’t know about you, but I have a hard time admitting I am wrong! To humble myself and say I’m the one to blame, it’s all my fault! It can be embarrassing to be exposed as the guilty one!

But one day, the Lord Jesus Christ, Who even now is able to keep me from stumbling, will present me as one without any guilt or fault before the very presence of glory of God the Father. Today, I still might stumble and fall. I can easily get distracted and often misguided and I am so thankful that Jesus is patiently waiting for my cry for help and mercy and will forgive me.

But on that day, the Lord Jesus will present to His Father, to our Father, as one who has never sinned, clothed in His righteousness! The Apostle Paul told the church at Ephesus that Jesus loves us so much that He gave His life for usso “that He might present her to Himself a glorious church, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing, but that she should be holy and without blemish” (Ephesians 5:27).

No spot, no blemish, no not even “a wrinkle or any such thing”! My friend, not only can we trust in His love and mercy and forgiveness today, we have something to look forward too! I have to remind us that it is only because of Who Jesus is and what He did for us on the cross! The Apostle Peter put it this way in his epistle: “Knowing that you were not redeemed with corruptible things, like silver or gold, from your aimless conduct received by tradition from your fathers, but with the precious blood of Christ, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot. (1 Peter 1:18-19)

It is only because that Jesus was without spot or blemish that He could take our sins, out spots, our blemishes, and take our blame, our guilt and our punishment on the cross! And because Jesus did that for us, one day we will be presented in Him, in His righteousness before the Father! Wow! What a wonderful reminder for us as we are surrounded by the evil and wickedness and the filth of this ole world where we get dirty and spotted so easily.

Today, we can now experience Jesus cleansing blood by confessing our sin and guilt and He will always have mercy and wash us clean!

God bless!
