It Is Really All About Jesus
Jude 1:24-25 “Now to Him who is able to keep you from stumbling, And to present you faultless Before the presence of His glory with exceeding joy, To God our Savior, Who alone is wise, Be glory and majesty, Dominion and power, Both now and forever. Amen.”
For the last several days I’ve been saying that it is all about the glory of God! And for sure it is! But this morning as I was thinking about this statement, “It’s all about”, I realized I could also say, it’s all about wisdom, it’s all about truth, it’s all about grace, it’s all about light, it’s all about life, it is all about the Word of God, and I would be correct. Because honestly, Jesus is every one of these things! They are with synonymous with Jesus! Jesus is the glory of God! Jesus is the wisdom of God! Jesus is the grace and truth of God! Jesus is the life and light of God! Jesus is the living Word of God! So really, it is all about Jesus!
That’s why we should look for Jesus in every word in the Bible! We should keep our eyes on Jesus! We should look to Him for wisdom, grace, truth, strength and everything we need in our lives! Jesus alone is the Savior of the world! There is nowhere else to look of salvation! Jesus is the only One Who died in your place for your sins!
So, after Jude has been talking about the dangerous teachings of the apostates and describing them, he wants us to now be reminded that God’s answer for their lies and devious ways is Jesus! If we would walk with Jesus in His Word, listen to Jesus in our communion with Him, obey Him as He directs and leads us, we would not be stumbling and fall!
Jude concludes his letter by showing us how great our God and Savior really is so we will trust and obey Him!
Majesty means "greatness, magnificence." Only God is great. When we praise God, we praise the most magnificent Person in the universe. He is not simply King; He is King of kings! He is not simply Lord; He is Lord of lords! He is El Elyon, the Most High God! There is no one or anything higher than our God!
Dominion has to do with God's sovereignty and rule over all things. The Greek word means "strength, might," but it carries the idea of complete control over all things. Nothing in the universe, or in our lives for that matter, happens without His allowing it.
Power means "authority," which is the right to use power. All authority belongs to Jesus Christ (Matthew 28:18), including authority over the powers of darkness. Remember Ephesians 1:19-23: “And what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might that he worked in Christ when he raised him from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly places, far above all rule and authority and power and dominion, and above every name that is named, not only in this age but also in the one to come. And he put all things under his feet and gave him as head over all things to the church, which is his body, the fullness of him who fills all in all.” As we yield ourselves to Him, we share His authority and accomplish His will.
Today, it really is all about Jesus! Please don’t forget this great promise in Romans 8:37-39: “No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.”
You can trust and find everything you really need in Jesus today!
God bless!
