Romans 8:28-30
One of the most encouraging things to remember and believe, is that God is always at work, He is sovereign in all His ways, and He will never let me down or forget me! I’m convinced that is exactly what these verses are teaching us!
Romans 8:28-30 “And we know that all things work together for good to those who love God, to those who are the called according to His purpose. For whom He foreknew, He also predestined to be conformed to the image of His Son, that He might be the firstborn among many brethren. Moreover whom He predestined, these He also called; whom He called, these He also justified; and whom He justified, these He also glorified.”
It is my opinion that these verse clarify the Biblical meaning of predestination. There are some that would teach us that predestination means that God, in eternity past, predetermined who would be saved one day and go to heaven or who would be eternally lost and go to hell. I’ve read and studied the Bible in its entirety over and over now for over fifty years and have become more personally convinced that predestination in the Bible has nothing to do with our eternal salvation.
With all my heart, I believe, as these verses here state, that Bible predestination has everything to do with my Christian service and my ultimate sanctification, of one day being exactly like Jesus Christ. The plan, purpose and calling of God for every believer is to love and serve Jesus Christ and we are promised that one day we will be exactly like Him.
1 John 3:1-3 “Behold what manner of love the Father has bestowed on us, that we should be called children of God! Therefore the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is. And everyone who has this hope in Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.”
My life verse is Philippians 1:6, “Being confident of this very thing, that He who has begun a good work in you will complete it until the day of Jesus Christ..”
Today, you can be assured, that no matter what you are facing, or what suffering and pain you are enduring, God is at work to make you more and more like Jesus Christ!
God bless!
