Romans 10 – Salvation By Faith Alone
If there is one thing the devil does more than any other, it is to deceive us into thinking that God’s way of salvation is too complicated to understand and obtain personally. If he can’t keep us from the truth of the Gospel, he makes us think that we need to do something to be worthy enough to receive it. And on top of it, there are so many religions of the world that claim to be the way of salvation, how in the world can a person like me figure out which is the right one.
When you look at all the religions of the world, you really have to conclude that there are really only two. One religion teaches or claims that salvation is by works and the other teaches salvation is by grace through faith alone!
In this passage, Paul was explaining how the Jew was very knowledgeable and zealous about the Law and was trying to establish and obtain righteousness by keeping it. And it was only for the Jews and it was based on works that produced a self-righteousness rather than God’s righteousness. He contrasts this “Law Righteousness” to a “Faith Righteousness”
My friend, God’s eternal salvation is not complicated! It is so simple a child can understand and receive it. It a matter of faith in the finished work of Christ on the Cross paying the price for our sin! All we need to do is found in verses 9 to 13!
Romans 10:9-13 “That if you confess with your mouth the Lord Jesus and believe in your heart that God has raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart one believes unto righteousness, and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. For the Scripture says, "Whoever believes on Him will not be put to shame." For there is no distinction between Jew and Greek, for the same Lord over all is rich to all who call upon Him. For "whoever calls on the name of the LORD shall be saved."
Today, by faith call on the name of Jesus and you will be saved! It’s my prayer that if you have never experienced God’s righteousness by faith, this will be the day of your salvation!
God bless!
