Romans 12:1-2 – Living Life in God’s Will

I am pretty sure that there is nothing more important in all the world than to know and to be living in the perfect will of God. How can you know the will of God? How can you be sure you are living in the will of God?

Romans 12:1-2 is key to the answer to these two questions. It really begins in the first chapters of Romans that are about sin and salvation. I can assure you that it is God’s will that everyone be saved! “…The LORD is not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance.” (2 Peter 3:9) The very first step to knowing and being in the will of God is make sure you have been forgiven of all your sins have established a relationship with God through His Son Jesus Christ. Do you have the assurance of your eternal salvation right now?

Secondly, we need to believe that we can know and understand God’s will. We are told in Ephesians 5: “Look carefully then how you walk, not as unwise but as wise, making the best use of the time, because the days are evil. Therefore do not be foolish, but understand what the will of the Lord is.”

And Romans 12:1-2 tells us that, as we surrender our lives to Jesus Christ every day, we will live a life that gives evidence that we walking and living in God’s good and acceptable and perfect will! The desire of our heart and our prayer will always be, “Thy will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” (Matthew 6:10) We will pray as our Savior prayed, “Not my will but thine be done.”

A good way to begin every day is to pray the above prayers, and present and surrender your life, and yield your day over to the control of the Lord’s Holy Spirit! My friend, when you do this from the heart, you will experience the great adventure of God’s presence in your life every day!

God bless!
