The Rewards at the Judgment Seat 1 Corinthians 3:8 & 12-14 Now he who plants and he who waters are one, and each one will receive his own reward according to his own labor…..Now if anyone builds on this foundation with gold, silver, precious stones, wood, hay, straw, each one's work will become clear; for the Day will declare it, because it will be revealed by fire; and the fire will test each one's work, of what sort it is. If anyone's work which he has built on it endures, he will receive a reward.
There should be no doubt about the clear teaching of Scripture concerning the Judgment Seat of Christ as a time when believers will be rewarded according to the faithfulness and quality of their stewardship over the gifts and resources the Lord entrusted them with while they lived out their time on earth!
I’m convinced that the Judgment Seat will be the time that our works will be tested as to our faithfulness, our dependency on the Holy Spirit, our obedience to fulfill God’s will and calling on our lives, and our motives behind the works and deeds that we performed. The rewards that we receive will determine our position of authority in the thousand year reign of Christ on earth after the tribulation.
When Jesus was giving His Kingdom message in Matthew 25, He told the parable about the stewards and their reward for faithfully serving: “His lord said to him, 'Well done, good and faithful servant; you were faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord.'” (Matthew 25:21)
In Matthew 16:27 Jesus said: “For the Son of Man will come in the glory of His Father with His angels, and then He will reward each according to his works.”
Paul wrote: “If we endure, We shall also reign with Him. If we deny Him, He also will deny us.” (2 Timothy 2:12)
And finally John recorded several passages in Revelation about these rewards and our reigning with Christ on earth in His Kingdom: “And have made us kings and priests to our God; And we shall reign on the earth." (Revelation 5:10)
“The nations were angry, and Your wrath has come, And the time of the dead, that they should be judged, And that You should reward Your servants the prophets and the saints, And those who fear Your name, small and great, And should destroy those who destroy the earth." (Revelation 11:18)
“And I saw thrones, and they sat on them, and judgment was committed to them. Then I saw the souls of those who had been beheaded for their witness to Jesus and for the word of God, who had not worshiped the beast or his image, and had not received his mark on their foreheads or on their hands. And they lived and reigned with Christ for a thousand years.” (Revelation 20:4)
“Blessed and holy is he who has part in the first resurrection. Over such the second death has no power, but they shall be priests of God and of Christ, and shall reign with Him a thousand years.” (Revelation 20:6)
“There shall be no night there: They need no lamp nor light of the sun, for the Lord God gives them light. And they shall reign forever and ever.” (Revelation 22:5)
The New Testament ends with this promise from Jesus! “And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.” (Revelation 22:12)
I heard this statement years ago: “Present performance will determine future position in the Kingdom.” What kind of reward will you receive on that Day?
God bless!
